Finomenal Weekend 

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of July 2020, Bulls&Bears; the Finance and Economics Club of PDPU in collaboration with Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) conducted a series of webinars exclusively for the students of PDPU.  Bombay Stock Exchange Institute, established in 1875 is focused on imparting knowledge and training in financial markets and at PDPU these workshops were aimed at delivering basics financial markets, capital markets and data science along with tips and tricks which proved to be beneficial for students of various disciplines in PDPU. Seema Srivastava; the Regional Head of BSE and Mumtaz Mistry: the National Head of BSE addressed the students. Avni Jani, from BSE was the Coordinator for the event. This was exclusively free, was conducted on Zoom and E- Certificates were issued by the BSE.  In order for everybody to get a chance, each student was allowed to enroll for solely one webinar.

DAY 1 | Data Science

On 16th July, the webinar was on Data Science. It was held from 4:00-6:00pm. An approximate of 90 students attended the workshop. Mr. Nishant Sidana, a faculty of BSE conducted the seminar. This was specifically targeted for the Engineering Students because it required intermediary knowledge about analytics and coding. This workshop talked about Data Science as a field, its meaning and applications and stages of analytics. It also highlighted the career prospects of Data Science and how to go about it.

DAY 2 | Creating Wealth with Capital Markets 

On 17th July, the topic for the webinar was Creating Wealth with Capital Markets. It was held from 12:00-2:00pm and was conducted by Mr. Jugal Shah; a faculty of BSE. About 95 students attended the workshop. It was mainly on how wealth can be generated and used. Students were encouraged to invest and save early and responsibly, in order to secure their future. Doubts were addressed at the end of the session.

DAY 3 | Financial Markets 

On 18th July, the webinar was on Financial Markets, was conducted by Mr. Jugal Shah again. It was held from 4:00-6:00pm and about 100 students attended the workshop. This workshop was dealt with career prospects relating to Finance. It spoke about the types of markets and how each was affected by COVID. Basics of Trading and important function keys for ODIN were explained. The session was very interactive and doubts were addressed as and when asked.
